“The Heart Sutra of the Perfection of Wisdom Proclaimed by the Buddha”
仏陀が説いた完璧な智慧の心経
１
When Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva was practicing deeply the Perfection of Wisdom,
観自在菩薩が完全な智慧の行を深く観想勤行（ヨーガ）していたとき、
he perceived that all five aggregates are empty.
諸法を成す五つの集合体（五蘊 色受想行識）はみな空であると観想した。
He transcended all suffering and distress.
その結果、彼は一切の苦も厄も超越した。

“Shariputra, form is not different from emptiness, emptiness is not different from form.
「舎利子よ、色（存在の形象 モノ）は空に異ならず、空は色に異ならない。
Form is exactly emptiness, emptiness is exactly form.
色は即ち空であり、空は即ち色である。
Perception, thought, action, and consciousness are also like this.
受も想も行も識もまた同様に空である。
Sariputra, this is the empty nature of all phenomena that,
舎利子よ、この諸法を空と観想したときの実相は、
not born, not dying; not defiled, not pure; not increasing, not decreasing.
一切は、生まれず、死なず; 汚くなく、清くもなく; 増えることなく、減ることもない。
Therefore, in emptiness, there is no form, perception, thought, action, or consciousness.
この故に、空においては、形象も、感覚も、想念も、所行も、意識も無いのである。
No eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, or mind. No color, sound, smell, taste, touch, or phenomena.
目も、耳も、鼻も、舌も、身体も、心も無く、色も、音も、匂いも、味も、諸法も無い。
No realm of sight, and so on up to no realm of consciousness.
視覚の世界から始まって、識の世界に至るまで 諸法は 無い。
No ignorance and also no end to ignorance,
無明（無知 愚かさ）も無く、無明が尽きるということも無い。
and so on up to no old age and death and no end to old age and death.
同様に、老いや死もなく、老いや死が尽きるということも無い。
No suffering, origination, cessation, path.
一切の苦も、生成も、消滅も、道も無い。
No wisdom and also no attainment, because there’s nothing to attain.
智もなく、獲得するということもない。人が所有できるモノなど何もないからだ。

Bodhisattva relies on the Perfection of Wisdom, therefore
菩提薩埵（アウトサイダ－＝９の者）は完璧な智慧（般若波羅蜜多）に依るが故に、
the mind has no obstacles. Having no obstacles, therefore there is no fear.
その心に一切の障害（罣礙けいげ）が無い。一切の障害がない故に、一切の恐怖もない。
Far apart from all perverted views, therefore they finally reach Nirvana.
一切の顛倒したものの見方や夢想から遠く離れているが故に、最後には（９境）涅槃に至る。
All Buddhas of the three times, by relying on the Perfection of Wisdom
過去現在未来三世の全ての覚者（仏陀）達も この完璧な智慧（般若波羅蜜多）に依って、
attain the Supreme and Perfect Enlightenment.
最高にして完璧な悟りの境地（阿耨多羅三藐三菩提）を得るのである。

Therefore, know the Perfection of Wisdom.
故に、知れ！完璧な智慧（般若波羅蜜多）を。
It is the great divine mantra, it is the great illuminating mantra,
これは偉大で神聖な真言であり、これは偉大な明るく輝く真言であり、
it is the supreme mantra, it is the unequalled mantra.
これはこの上ない真言であり、これは比類のない真言である。
That can eliminate all suffering, it is true and not false.
その智慧の真言は一切の苦をよく除き、真実にして虚妄ではない。
Therefore, I proclaim the mantra of the Perfection of Wisdom.
では、その完璧な智慧の真言を私は説こう。

I then proclaimed the mantra, saying:
即ち私が説いたその真言を言う。
Gate Gate Pāragate
ガテーガテーパラガテー
Pārasaṃgate Bodhi Svāhā
パラサンガテー ボウディスヴァーハ
This concludes my Heart Sutra of the Perfection of Wisdom.”
以上で、私の完璧な智慧の心経を終わる」
